You can use these tweaks in G+ posts/chat

Italics: To write in Italics, put an underscore before and after a word/sentence
Example: _Italics_
Bold: To write in bold, put asterisk before and after a word/sentence
Example: *Bold*
Strike-through: To strike through a word/sentence, put a hyphen before and after it.
Example: -Strikethrough-

This works in posts and comments.
