This is located at General Maxilom Avenue, Cebu City. This is where you get some of the local records such as marriage certificates, CENOMAR (Certificate of no marriage), local civil registry record and death certificates. It is good to know that we can also acquire copies of our NSO (National Statistics Office) birth certificates here instead of the hassle we go through when we take the long queue in the NSO office near Plaza Independencia.

Essential Info

For those who are yet to go the place, you can ride jeepneys with  01K, 02B, or 10 H signages. It is very near the Queensland Hotel.

The office opens at 8 am.

For any concerns, you can give them a ring at  +6332 232 6848 or +6332 234 4042.

Getting Your Records

When you step in the building, you are to fill up a form from window 1. There are lots of seats available to give you the comfort to write well hence avoiding errors when filing. After that, you are to go the security guard’s table and ask for a priority number to line up for the cashier.

Birth, marriage and death certificates are charged with 190 Php. The original cost is 140 PHP each, but you have a service fee of 50 PHP thus amounting to 190 PHP. Do note that the processing takes around 5 days.

On the other hand, the CENOMAR takes 20 days to process and requires a fee of 245 PHP (195 PHP + 50 PHP service fee). The process here doesn’t take that long as they don’t have noon breaks and a number of tellers would cater to clients.

If you are a senior citizen, with physical disabilities or pregnant, a separate counter caters to your needs so you need not fret of long lines. If you are processing for your spouse or another person, you must present an authorization letter or special power of attorney plus valid IDs. But if you are a parent asking for the records of your youngsters, no need for those.
