Places to Stay in Naga and San Fernando, Cebu: Seaside Inns and Resorts South of Cebu City

Naga is a coastal city about 22 km from Cebu City. The City of Naga's official website lists these accommodations, with the barangay each one is in. We list them with the contact numbers published there.

• Hotel Dulcee, Sitio Cayam and Purok Dama De Noche, Colon: the best-known hotel in the city, with deluxe, king suite and family suite rooms, a restaurant and a 24-hour front desk, according to its booking listing. The city site also lists Ocean Garden Events Place and Alferez Events Place, which are event venues rather than regular hotels. The listing does not give room rates or room types, so ask about prices, check-in times, pool or day-use fees and whether rooms are air-conditioned when you call.

Staying in Naga puts you close to the Naga City Boardwalk, a waterfront walk in East Poblacion that is popular in the late afternoon and evening.

San Fernando is quieter and has fewer hotels. Booking platforms list a small number of budget stays, mostly inns, guest houses and small hostels:

• Hostel Asilda: a small hostel with about six air-conditioned rooms, free parking, Wi-Fi and a 24-hour reception, according to its listing. Guests rate it very good on Agoda (7.3 from 33 reviews).
• RB Baruiz Inn / RB Baruiz "Hideaway" Inn, Cebu South: an inn with rooms listed from about USD 19 a night, and guest scores of 7.2 from 28 reviews on Agoda. There is also a separate smaller listing with a higher score from only 5 reviews.
• Mr B Guest House: a guest house with room rentals, scored 8.2 on Agoda from just 5 reviews.
• Several private homes and apartments are also listed on booking sites, including places in the Casa Mira subdivision. These are usually rented as whole units, so check house rules and arrival arrangements with the host.

Torre Seaside Resort in Sangat is also known locally for day visits and overlooks the sea, and is open from 8 AM to 8 PM according to its Facebook page. Confirm directly if overnight rooms are available.

A note on one well-known name: Pulchra Resort in San Fernando has closed. Its own website says it ceased operations on 5 February 2025 and has not resumed business, even though some booking sites may still show it. Please do not book it, and check that any listing you find is still operating.

Both towns are on the south road, so buses and V-hire vans bound for Carcar, Argao, Oslob and other southern towns pass through them from the Cebu South Bus Terminal. Tell the conductor your stop in advance. Taking your own car or a hired driver gives you more freedom to reach seaside resorts located off the main highway.

Tips before booking

1. Message or call the property to confirm rooms are available and ask for the total price, including any resort or pool fees.
2. Ask if there are extra charges for visitors, parking or air-conditioning.
3. Check the exact location. Many places sit on side roads away from the highway, so ask for a map pin.
4. Book early on weekends, holidays and Sinulog week, when seaside stays near Cebu City fill up.
5. Keep a backup in Carcar or Cebu City if your plans are flexible.
