Australian Visa: Where To Have Your Medical Exam In Cebu

Admit it, more and more people nowadays aim to go abroad either to migrate, work, and even study in the hopes of getting a better quality of life. True, life beyond our country may seem a lot better, but it can get lonelier if you think about it. Anyway, that is not the point here. If you are processing for an Australian visa and you already received a notice from the Australian embassy for a medical exam just to check your current health, take note that there are only two accredited organization here in Cebu to do the said exam—the Nationwide Health Systems Cebu Incorporated and Cebu Doctors’ Hospital.

Nationwide Health Systems Cebu Incorporated

This is located at Room 302 Jose C. Borromeo Building, Gov. Roa Street, Capitol Site Cebu City. Still unfamiliar? Actually it’s right behind Cebu Doctors’ Hospital at Jones Avenue. It is right across the hospital’s ER department.

The designated panel of practitioners in this organization is Dr. Julieta Remedios Coruña and Dr. Odette Basal Both doctors are really friendly yet professional so you need not worry for the exam. Fees for the medical exam vary depending on the required exam by the embassy. The more exam they require, of course the fees get higher. A budget of 5,000 PHP may be fine but it’s best to call them up just to be sure. Give them a ring at (032) 2386053 or at their sun mobile number +639228369112. Remember that they cater on a first come first served basis. If I am not mistaken, they could only cater the first ten people per day. They open at 8 AM to 5PM Monday to Saturday, yet the paper list which is posted on the ground floor of the building may fill up a lot earlier before 8 AM. Better come really early to get an earlier spot. Remember to bring all required documents with the correct specification to avoid delays like having the correct background color for the passport ID and other forms. If lucky, you can finish by lunch. But usually, they advise that the medical exam is conducted whole day. They advise by text if there’s any abnormal result in the laboratory studies which needs to be repeated.

Cebu Doctors’ Hospital

I bet almost all Cebuano knows of this place. It’s in room 212 Medical Arts Building 2 Governor Roa Street Cebu City. They open from 9 am to 5 pm.

The designated practitioners here are Dr. Maureen Santos and Dr. Alberto Santos. Both are well-known physicians in their field. Fees are more or less the same as Nationwide. Not much difference. You can call them up at (032) 254 4929 or (032)255 3042. This organization caters on an appointment-based system. This ensures that an acceptable number of applicants will be finished during the day without causing undue appearance of applicants which can’t already be catered for the day. Be there on the exact time of your appointment to keep your slot.

Really, choosing a venue for the medical exam largely depends on your preference as to where you are more comfortable.
