Call Center Agents – What You Can Do About Your Health

BPOs are spouting like mushrooms here in Cebu City. That means more jobs for Filipinos as call center agents. However, being a call center agent means that you have to sacrifice a regular sleeping-eating-waking schedule. Because of this, you have to make sure you take care of your health so as not to agitate it.

It is important that you get 8 hours of sleep. It doesn’t matter what your shift is, as long as get 8 hours of sleep at least. So how do you sleep 8 hours during the day when your body is used to sleeping at night? Here are some tips:

1. Turn off your phone.

2. Do not watch television or listen to loud music.

3. Tell your family members not to disturb you.

4. Close the windows and curtains and turn off the lights.

5. Use earplugs and eye mask, if necessary.

Eat healthy. Do not take junk foods for your snacks. Instead opt for healthy snacks such as fruits, milk, almonds and yogurt. Eat within an hour of waking up. Mark that meal as your breakfast. Also, drink plenty of water.

Do not drink too much coffee as this will further affect your already disrupted sleeping pattern.

Get some exercise. Light exercises such as taking the stairs or walking will do. Sitting down for long periods will increase your risk of having heart problems.

It is also important for you to take your daily dose of vitamins. You can either opt for multivitamins or take something that boosts your immune system (Vitamin C), boost red blood cells (Iron) and Omega-3 for the heart.
