Review: Ruvi Cave in Minglanilla Cebu

Summer season is still quite far but Cebuanos are naturally adventure seekers and always have a craving for some fun in the water regardless of the time of year. People go to just about anywhere to satisfy their craving for fun under the sun. White sand beaches in the northern and southern part of Cebu are frequent destinations by most people. Swimming pools in exclusive hotels and resorts are also well enjoyed by some. More often than not, going to these super fine places can be a little costly for most. Fortunately, we have nearby pocket-friendly resorts that we can go to.

Ruvi Cave Resort situated in Tungkop, Minglanilla Cebu is one good choice you can try. It’s a around a 30 to 45-minute drive per private car and public vehicle from Cebu City proper. A budget of 50 Php for one-way public transport can be fine already. Going South, the road leading to Ruvi Cave is actually right across the Mary Help Christian School. Actually, getting to the place often discourages some since the road going there has lots of turning once you get to Minglanilla area. I suggest you to just be more adventurous and enjoy the whole ride. Asking for directions from the local people can be a fun experience. Try it out. They won’t bite after all and actually be really accommodating. You will be riding a tricycle once you reached Minglanilla proper. Every tricycle driver knows the said resort.

Expect a very child-like place once you get to Ruvi Cave. Of course, it has cave-like carves that would always excite every kid. Entrance fee is 100 Php per adult person and 50 Php for kids ages 3 to 10 inclusive of pool use. They have a different fee though for those who want to enjoy the place from 6 PM to 12 Am. They charge 120 Php for adults. They are open seven days a week. Cottages range from 200 to 300 Php depending on the size. The place is not that spacious but it can still give you the kind of fun you want to experience. It has 2 sets of swimming pools with slides ranging from 4 to 7 feet. For those who want to sing their heart out, they do have a karaoke corner perfect for you. If you want to stay overnignt, they have air-conditioned rooms at 1000 Php per night. You can actually bring your own food. They only charge corkage fees to liquors and other beverages brought.

I think kids are more to enjoy the place than adults would. However, if you are in for the fun, then you would find ways to have fun with your family. You can call them at 032-4903321.
