Shop and Save with Colonnade Supermarket

Colon Street would not be complete without the site of a building with a huge “Colonnade Supermarket” signboard. I bet every thrifty Cebuano has tried having their groceries in this store which was put up in the early 80s as part of the Colonnade mall. It is situated in Colon Street Corner Junquera, Cebu City.  This is managed by the Alturas Group of Companies.

Most of us would probably remember Colonnade as a primeval building in Colon with not so much innovations in it. A number of more modern grocery shops have sprouted just about anywhere after all. However, that doesn’t hold true anymore nowadays. Recent innovations in its structure gave way to a more convenient shopping moment. Gone were the long lines that people had to wait in to reach the cashier. More cashier booths has been created to cater to this concern. Today, it is almost comparable to modern supermarkets with a wide variety of goods minus the rather costly prices.

How To Get There

A lot of people go to Colonnade being widely accessible to a lot of public utility jeepneys. Colon, afterall, is like the center of every jeepney route. Jeepneys with the signages 11A, 14D, 10G, 10F, 10M, 01K and a lot more would pass by the area frequently. The building is right beside Gaisano Main. Really, Transportation would never be a problem as you carry your grocery items in going home because of its strategic location.

Perks You Can Enjoy

This one-of-a kind supermarket is primarily constructed to cater to consumers who want the best deal for their money—buying more at a lesser cost. Well, who wouldn’t want that? This place appeals to the masses, luring the common people. There, you will see consumers buying goods in bulk for their mini “sari-sari” stores. Cheaper prices are well appreciated when buying in bulk though it may just be a difference of centavos per item when compared to other shops. Without a doubt, prices of goods will have to go down because nearby stores and other supermarkets are competing just to get consumers’ attention. Families also enjoy purchasing their weekly food items there.

The quality of its dry and wet goods is also highly-reliable. Because of their numerous clients, they don’t stock perishable goods for long. Meat and fish products are always fresh and new. A colleague of mine even vouched for the fairness of their weighed goods being a regular Colonnade shopper for quite some time now. Being constantly filled with consumers, its management always sees to it that environmental sanitation and security is maintained. More and more innovations may have sprouted in other grocery stores, yet Colonnade never fades to attract its own set of consumers. This is how they run business and probably the reason why they clicked so much to the public. I’d rate it a 4 out of 5. They are openseven days a week from around 6:30 AM to 8 PM.
