Pasil Wet Market in Cebu

I bet most people would have a negative bias when talking about Pasil. Yes, it can get smelly, dirty and a bit unsafe if you are not careful. But for those who simply want to get their money’s worth to get the freshest seafood at the lowest cost possible for their budget, this is the place to be.

Location

Pasil Wet Market is located at C. Padilla Street. It’s right in front San Nicolas Parish Church nearing Carbon Area in Colon.

Getting There

To get this spot, you can ride tartanilla (horse-driven cart) or jeepneys . Usually, the peak market time to go to would be early morning around 4 to 6 am.

Expect a lot of fresh seafood such as fish, crabs, shrimps and others to be displayed. It is during early morning that newly-caught wet goods arrive in the market. Basically, the scene there would be pretty messy and busy. But it’s not what you are after there right?

Just one tip: Don’t bring your phones or other gadgets when you go there. Just bring enough money and you’ll be just fine. For the prices, you can already get a kilo of fish for around 120 to 180 PHP (4USD/kg). Quality raw seafood at its best at a friendly price. That’s the real trademark of Pasil Wet Market.
