Ready to leave the city? Part 5 of our transport series covers the Cebu South Bus Terminal, buses to Moalboal and Oslob, and the OceanJet ferry to Bohol, with rough fares and tips.

Cebu's best-known beaches, canyons and dive spots are outside the city. You can reach most of them by bus, and the islands nearby by ferry.

This is Part 5, the last in our series on getting around Cebu.

Buses to southern Cebu

Buses to the south, including Moalboal, Oslob and Carcar, leave from the Cebu South Bus Terminal (CSBT). The Moalboal local government's official page advises taking a Ceres Liner bus bound for "Bato via Barili" and getting off at Moalboal Public Market, then a tricycle or habal-habal to Panagsama Beach.

The LGU gives the trip as about 2.5 to 3.5 hours. It lists fares of ₱200 to ₱250 for an air-conditioned bus and ₱150 to ₱200 for a non-air-conditioned bus. A 2026 terminal guide lists roughly ₱269 to ₱330 for Oslob and ₱79 to ₱95 for Carcar. Fares were adjusted again on 28 September 2026, so expect small differences from these figures.

Northbound buses use the Cebu North Bus Terminal, which is a separate terminal from the south one. Check which terminal your destination uses before you take a taxi there.

OceanJet's official schedule lists Cebu to Tagbilaran departures from 6:00 AM to 5:40 PM, with 11 trips a day, and three daily trips between Cebu and Getafe, Bohol. A Klook listing gives the Cebu departure point as Pier 1 in the Cebu pier area.

For fares, OceanJet's website page shows ₱800 for open-air or tourist class from Cebu to Tagbilaran, but that page is dated 2023. OceanJet's Facebook page lists updated fares effective 21 September 2026 of ₱960 for the same route and ₱1,450 for business class. Because the sources differ, expect roughly ₱800 to ₱1,000 for tourist class and check OceanJet before you book.

Tips for day trips and longer journeys

  1. Leave early. Roads out of the city can be slow, and buses fill up on weekends and holidays.
  2. Bring cash for bus fares and small bills for tricycles at your destination.
  3. For groups or tight schedules, a private van or car with a driver is an option. Ask for the price upfront.
  4. Arrive at the pier at least an hour before your ferry departs, with your ID.
  5. Check weather advisories if you plan to travel by sea.

That wraps up our series on getting around Cebu.
