Date Night: Highlights at Harolds Hotel

Another beautiful night in Cebu. Have a romantic candlelight dinner and delight in modern Asian cuisine or unwind with custom cocktails uniquely concocted at the bar. Lounge around after dinner with a glass of wine while enjoying live music.

Whenze boyfriend and I first started going out, he impressed me by taking me to this romantic spot at Harolds Hotel. Taking your date to a restaurant in a hotel is a good idea because it is casual but still chic and elegant. Not to mention, the lighting is always good. Instead of taking me to the restaurant H Café, he surprised me by taking me up to the rooftop where they have a bar and restaurant called Highlights. There is indoor seating by the bar but we sat al fresco as there was no sign of rain and he was trying to put the moves on me.

Dinner started with refreshing cocktails and some very big oysters, a known aphrodisiac. Score! Shortly after, dinner was served. He had the Grilled White Marlin and Asparagus with a side of Mango Chutney and Chili Sauce. I went with the Lemongrass Skewers of Bacon-wrapped Prawn in Avocado Chutney. Both were just wonderful – flavorful but light. We had their house wine, which was very good. And we decided to stay and have a few more drinks at the bar. Later in the evening we caught the live band that played acoustic covers of 80’s music. They were pretty good! All in all, it was a very good evening… very romantic. The food was around P200 per order and cocktails started at P150.

Service is excellent. You can bet we’ve definitely gone back more than once.

Highlights is conveniently located on the roof deck of Harold’s Hotel on Gorordo Avenue corner Rosal Street, Lahug, Cebu City. This gorgeous gallery is open to the public from 5PM-12MN daily. Highlights serves up live music entertainment from 9PM till midnight, Mondays through Saturdays. So come up for a cool, calm, quiet evening and enjoy the city view from the top.
