Today is World No Tobacco Day (WNTD). What Does this Mean?

World No Tobacco Day (WNTD) is celebrated every year, on May 31.

The World Health Organization and its partners hope to highlight the health and other risks associated with the use of tobacco. Included in their agenda is the reduction of tobacco consumption.

Tobacco and heart disease

This year’s theme is "Tobacco and heart disease", with the campaign aiming to raise awareness on the link between tobacco use and cardiovascular diseases, including stroke, heart diseases and others. These diseases not just affect smokers, but those who get a whiff of their poison too.
