Review: Glojam Town Apartelle

Most of the famous five-star hotels in Cebu are really expensive. Also, most of them are located in Mactan Island – a bit far from the heart of Cebu City.

If you want to enjoy modern and posh amenities, closer to the bustling city of Cebu and for a notably more affordable cost, Glojam Town Apartelle is your best bet. Although a new player in the market, Glojam has already earned a good reputation, so I decided to find out why.

Getting There

Glojam is located at V.L Building corner Colon Panganiban Street, Cebu City, Philippines 6000.

By Taxi: Tell the taxi driver to take you to Panganiban Street. Glojam is located adjacent to the large Katipunan Lumber. You won’t miss it because it is the only apartelle within the area.

By Jeepney: Ride a jeepney that will take you to Panganiban Street.

If you are getting there from Mactan Cebu International Airport, it will probably take you 30-45 minutes to reach Glojam, without a traffic jam.

The Facade

One look and you would know that the building is new. It has a grand and clean lobby and a comfortable lounge area.

Glojam Town Apartelle accepts cash and credit cards, so you won’t have to worry much about payments. It also has an ATM machine on site.

For senior citizens and the injured, there is an elevator access for all floors. Although brown outs or power outage is a common phenomenon in the Philippines, you won’t have to worry as it has a standby generator.

Other services and facilities are:

  • Daily rooms rates inclusion of complimentary breakfast

The rooms are surprisingly spacious, considering that the price isn’t that high. The toilet, sheets, walls and everything else were very, very, very clean. Maybe because the building is new. Nevertheless, you won’t find a single creepy crawly inside the place. The TV is just flat screen, so… meh. But I can overlook that. The water pressure in the bathroom is just fine, too.

The building itself is safe. There is 24 hour security and CCTV to boot. But still, I won’t recommend you to go walking around Panganiban Street late at night. I’m sure no local would.

What to Do in Glojam

Okay, so Glojam doesn’t have a swimming pool, a gym or even a karaoke room. So most of the fun can be found outside.

Where to Eat

Glojam has its very own Glojam Café & Resto which serves delicious continental and Filipino cuisine. The restobar is open from 7am (perfect for early risers) and closes at 11pm.

Best Features

Glojam has a reservation system and a booking system, which really ensures that you get the room on a specific date.

All in all, I would say that Glojam Town Apartelle is a great place to stay, if you wish to be closer to the heart of Cebu. It would make a perfect apartelle especially during Sinulog season  (because it is very near to where the parades, fluvial parades and processions pass through) and even during the Christmas holidays.

I would give Glojam 4 out of 5 stars.
