What is a Eucharistic Congress?

A Eucharistic Congress is an international gathering of individuals who have the same goal: to promote awareness of the importance of the Eucharist in the Catholic Church. According to the Roman Ritual De Sacra Communione et de Cultu Mysterii Eucharistici extra Missam, it is when there is a “pause for commitment and prayer to which a particular Church invites the universal Church.”



When is the 51st Eucharistic Congress?

The 51st International Eucharistic Congresss will be from January 24 (Sunday) to 31 (Sunday), 2016







Where is it going to be held?

In Cebu City, Philippines. Particularly, the Archdiocesan Seminaries of Cebu. It is located at Seminario Mayor de San Carlos, Juan Luna Avenue, Mabolo, 6000, Cebu City, Philippines.



In what languages will the keynote addresses, prayers and celebrations be delivered in?

There will be translations in English, Chinese, Portuguese, Vietnamese, Japanese, Korean, French and Italian. Meanwhile, masses, prayers and liturgical celebrations will be done in seven languages.







What activities are in store for the participants?

There will be a Eucharistic Procession, Adoration and Benediction. In addition, there will also be workshops, film screenings, concerts and stage plays. Furthermore, they will dedicate a few events for more than 5,000 young people.
