Metro Ayala Cebu Food Court: Lunch for P60 or Less

Window shopping and killing time around Ayala Center Cebu and Metro Ayala left me hungry. Unfortunately, I did not exactly have a lot of cash to spare.

With only P100 left in my pockets, I initially decided to buy shawarma. However, it was already lunch time so I decided to go find something that has actual rice. I decided that it will probably keep me full until late in the afternoon.

So I wandered into the Metro Ayala food court. It is at the 5th floor of the Metro Ayala Cebu, Cebu Business Park.

There, I found a lot of stalls including Thirsty drinks, Luz Inasal, King Wah, Leylam Shawarma, Tea-rrific, Sizzling Chef, Zagu, Ho Lee Chow and more.

RICE HAVEN: Rice meal for only P39!

There I found Rice Haven, a small stall with a “P39” only sign. I was instantly drawn to it. I ordered the crab flavored rice. For P39, it contains a large cup of rice with a few green peas, soy sauce, chopped carrots, onions and imitation crab stick slices thrown in. They cook the rice dish in front of you. They also have other flavors such as Teriyaki chicken, pork and mushroom.

The crab flavored rice was actually okay. Not gourmet fried rice, but filling nonetheless. It reminds me of my homemade rice and Maggie savor mix. Except that it has a few chopped vegetables and imitation crab thrown in. Yes, it’s imitation crab sticks. I can tell the difference.

NGO HIONG, FISH BALLS AND OTHER FRIED FOODS: For less than P15 each!

There was also another stall beside Rice Haven which sells fried chicken, ngo hiong, squid balls, fish balls and squid rolls. They sell squid balls, fish balls and squid rolls for only P12 and ngo hiong for only P9.

So I decided to buy 1 stick of fish balls for P12 and ngo hiong for P9.

The grand total of my lunch: P60!

The ngo hiong was not as yummy as the ngo hiong near University of San Carlos Main. It was pretty bad to be honest. The fish balls were yummy and I’m guessing it’s because the oil they fried it in is the same oil where they fry the fried chicken. You get to choose your sauce to match your dish. They have gravy, spicy, ketchup and vinegar.

I left the food court feeling full and satisfied. I still have P40 to spare for my snacks too.
